DIRECTORS NOTES

Sooner or later, it has probably happened to all of us. I have been riding and storing off-season motorized two wheeled vehicles for more years than (at times) I care to count. This year, in a building I built with help from family and friends 34 years ago I unfortunately was invaded by squatters.

Several weeks ago, I took the cover off Pearl for the 1st time this riding season. After a brief but thorough pre-ride inspection I lit up her M8 twin and let her warm up. I backed her out of the garage and began to roll her down the driveway to the road. I was surprised by something in the air floating behind my windscreen in front of my face. Could it be pollen, leaves debris?

I was pestered by this nuisance for more than the next mile of riding. I noted it was coming out the bottom of Pearls fairing. I determined it to be shredded newspaper etc.? Someone’s bedding material that did not belong there indeed!

I later visually verified, (as they scampered away), Pearl had become the unwilling host of at least 2 squatting mice! It has taken 5 different old school mousetraps and a fair amount of peanut butter that has been enjoyed as a nightly desert by them until finally my oldest (and obviously best) trap collected a toll for uninvited riders. I wonder if a sign might help…( *ss, g*s, or gr*ss, no rides for free)?

KEEP RIDIN AND KEEP SMILIN!
